Somaly Mam escaped from life in prostitution and is now at the forefront of the combat against sex trafficking in Cambodia. The film portrays Somaly and follows the path of two girls rescued from prostitution, recovering from the trauma, gaining confidence through learning new skills. It is a story about their struggle that starts when media coverage normally ends. This film is inevitably about Cambodia, a country that is painfully beautiful, desperately poor and is still recovering from its monstrous past.
